Our client, a major player in the manufacturing sector located in Atlanta, Georgia, US, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Industrial Process Engineer to optimize and enhance their production processes. This critical role involves the analysis, design, and implementation of efficiency improvements, cost reductions, and quality enhancements throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in industrial engineering principles, lean manufacturing methodologies, and statistical process control, coupled with a proven ability to drive significant operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
- Design and implement new process flows, layouts, and equipment specifications to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Develop and apply statistical process control (SPC) techniques to monitor and improve process consistency and product quality.
- Lead and execute lean manufacturing initiatives, including Kaizen events, 5S implementation, and value stream mapping.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for optimized processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, R&D, and maintenance, to ensure seamless process integration and problem resolution.
- Conduct time and motion studies, ergonomic assessments, and capacity planning analyses.
- Utilize simulation software to model and test process changes before implementation.
- Train production personnel on new processes and best practices.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment to improve manufacturing efficiency and automation.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to process performance, cost, quality, and safety.
- Ensure all process designs comply with relevant safety and environmental regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree: in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- A Master's degree: is a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years: of progressive experience in industrial process engineering, with a focus on manufacturing operations.
- Strong knowledge: of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred), and SPC.
- Proficiency: with CAD software for process layout design and simulation tools.
- Excellent analytical:, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability: to lead projects and drive change in a manufacturing environment.
