Our client, a prominent player in the mining sector, is looking for a highly motivated Senior Mining Engineer to contribute to their operations in San Antonio, Texas. This is a site-based position requiring a hands-on approach to engineering challenges within a demanding environment. You will play a critical role in planning, designing, and overseeing mining operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and profitability. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in open-pit or underground mining, with a strong understanding of geological principles, mine planning software, and regulatory compliance. Your Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing detailed mine plans, including short-term and long-term production schedules.
• Conducting feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new mining projects or expansions.
• Supervising mine operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Analyzing geological data to optimize resource utilization and extraction methods.
• Managing and mentoring a team of mining engineers and technicians.

Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related field is mandatory, with at least 7 years of progressive experience in the mining industry.

Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) certification is highly desirable.

Skills: Strong knowledge of mine ventilation, ground control, and explosives use is essential. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are required to succeed in this role.
