The Electronic Warfare and Airborne Sensors department within the Space and Air Sensors; Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities (SE&TC) organization is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support ongoing integration, test, and sustainment activities for the Next Generation Jammer (NGJ) Common Electronics Unit (CEU) – the flagship product for the Electronic Attack Systems mission area. This full-time, on-site role is based in Fort Wayne, IN. Location: US-IN-FT WAYNE-150A 1010 Production Rd BLDG 150A. Schedule: Onsite. Salary: 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand the customer’s architecture needs and desired capabilities and participate in requirements decomposition to ensure appropriate allocation of technical architecture elements.
- Develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges in signal processing design.
- Create or modify existing electronic warfare signal processing and control algorithms.
- Develop and execute test plans, including test simulations and lab tests to verify system capability.
- Evaluate and assess functional performance of developmental RF systems, including signal processing subsystems, and firmware/control algorithms.
- Provide labor and material cost estimates in support of bid and proposal activities, as required.
- Balance competing priorities and tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s in Science, Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science (STEM preferred).
- Experience Required: Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience.
- Proven experience in RF system design, including digital and analog signal processing, waveform and signal modulation analysis, and algorithm implementation and testing.
- Experience in system architecture definition, requirements derivation, allocation, and management.
- Proficiency in system modeling, simulation, and trade analysis to evaluate performance and guide design optimization.
- Ability to support occasional business travel (20% or less).
- Must have an active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance prior to start; U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in developing, implementing, and testing RF jamming algorithms.
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, C++, PathWave ADS, and/or PathWave EMPro for simulation and design of RF systems.
- Experience in RF receiver/exciter product design, development, and/or test experience in electronic warfare systems.
- Knowledge of embedded systems and embedded programming.
- Experience in designs that integrate digital signal processing techniques into embedded and hardware-based systems.
- Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and tools (e.g., Cameo or similar).
- Ability to address complex engineering issues through analysis, development, and implementation of effective solutions.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey system designs, project updates, and technical findings.
- Experience with DOORS for requirements management.
