Job Description

Position Overview

The Tech III position at Netsync is an essential leadership role focused on installing network hardware infrastructure across educational and professional environments. This hands‐on role supports day-to-day oversight of field technicians and ensures the successful execution of all project deliverables. The selected candidate will serve as the on‐site technical lead—overseeing network installations, maintaining standards, and acting as the primary point of contact for service-related matters—with mentorship provided by Supervisor III and Area Supervisors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead ENG-TECH I/II technicians in the field, ensuring consistent compliance with Netsync quality standards, safety procedures, and best installation practices.
  • Serve as the on-site lead for high-visibility and complex network installation projects, including structured cabling, switch/AP/phone/UPS deployments.
  • Act as the main point of contact (POC) for a multi-year project supporting a major hospital district in Louisiana.
  • Conduct network assessments and produce thorough documentation of client MDF/IDF environments.
  • Support associate project coordinators in driving project schedules, materials, and deliverables to completion.
  • Monitor team progress, escalate issues as needed, and ensure technicians complete accurate documentation using Microsoft Word, Excel, and internal tools.
  • Participate in regular quality control checks and audits of technician work.
  • Establish standards for device implementation and installation across all facilities.
  • Ensure proper use of tools, safety equipment, and adherence to ladder and job site safety protocols.
  • Support the onboarding, training, and development of new team members in collaboration with Supervisor III and Area Supervisors.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Effective Communication: Must communicate clearly and effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Follow Directions: Ability to take direction from on-site supervisors/leads and act appropriately.
  • Punctuality: Must be consistently on-time; if unable to attend, notify the designated supervisor at least one hour in advance.
  • Dress Code: Must wear pants and a Netsync shirt at all times during installations.
  • Driver’s License: Must possess a valid, non-expired driver’s license.
  • Background and Drug Screening: Must pass a drug test and background check.
  • Age Requirement: Must be 18 years or older.
  • Team Player: Must work collaboratively in a professional manner.
  • Reliable Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites.
  • Flexible Hours: Must work flexible hours (shifts such as 4 PM–12 AM or 8 AM–5 PM) and be available for long hours with minimal breaks.
  • Availability: Must be available for day-1 support after device cutover and remain on standby as needed.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to squat, bend, and reach without limitations.
  • Documentation Comprehension: Must understand and adhere to deployment documentation.
  • Commute: Must be able to drive up to 4–5 hours daily to job sites.
  • Work Environment: Must tolerate hot environments and associated conditions.
  • Experience in healthcare or hospital environments.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, Project+ or equivalent, and safety certifications like OSHA 10/30.
  • Familiarity with E-Rate-funded projects and/or large-scale K–12 deployments.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in network infrastructure installation and technician team oversight.
  • Proven experience supervising field teams during network deployments.
  • Strong documentation skills using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to assess and perform walk-throughs in MDF/IDF network environments.
  • Residing within a 1–2 hour commute of Baton Rouge or New Orleans with availability for local travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cabling Infrastructure Expertise: Proficient in cable management techniques, troubleshooting ports, toning cables, and restoring devices online.
  • Experience troubleshooting fiber uplinks and testing/validating connectivity for newly installed devices.
  • Ability to follow directions professionally and ensure devices are fully operational before leaving the site.
  • Familiarity with essential tools for installations (e.g., Phillips screwdrivers, snips); use of cordless drills is a plus to enhance efficiency.
