If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Procedure Support Technician - Operating Room at Piedmont Healthcare. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our operating rooms, providing essential support to our surgical teams. We are seeking a dependable and dedicated individual who possesses excellent communication skills and is able to maintain composure in high-stress situations. Your Responsibilities

  • Assist surgical teams in the preparation and maintenance of operating rooms before, during, and after procedures.
  • Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available for surgical procedures.
  • Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
  • Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless and efficient flow of patients, equipment, and supplies in the operating room.
  • Accurately document and update patient records, including pre-operative and post-operative care.
  • Monitor and record patient vital signs and report any abnormalities to the surgical team.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized operating room environment.
  • Follow infection control policies and procedures to prevent the spread of infections.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide excellent patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on healthcare industry developments and best practices.
  • Adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate and address any potential issues during procedures.
  • Remain calm and composed in high-stress situations and handle emergencies effectively.
  • Adhere to patient confidentiality and privacy guidelines.
  • Assist with transporting patients to and from the operating room as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of supplies and equipment in the operating room.
  • Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  • Provide support to other departments and healthcare professionals as needed.
