Tactical Paramedic for Medical Kit Product Development
Job Description
Position Overview
Chinook is a Veteran-Owned and 8(a) Small Business that provides custom medical solutions for the harshest environments. Since 1990, Chinook Medical Gear has specialized in outfitting government agencies, military units, contractors, corporations, adventure companies, and individuals with the latest medical gear, including military, law enforcement, home, travel, and public access medical kits, as well as procedure-specific medical modules. Job Summary: This is a Medical Kit and Medical Gear Product Development position that requires emergency medical experience, preferably in the Tactical Medical field. The successful candidate will lead the research and development of all new and current products, manage projects from inception through completion, and work closely with Management, Sales, and Marketing to ensure product quality, on-time delivery, speed to market, and profitability. Salary: $50,000 - $65,000 per year DOE. Location: Tulsa, OK 74146.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, review, and cost Bill of Materials for all stocked and custom Medical Kits and Modules in collaboration with Production, the PD Committee, and Sales teams.
- Collect feedback from Production on kit fitment, bag design modifications, and the overall ease and speed of kitting.
- Stay updated on industry trends and guidelines including Tactical Combat Casualty Care and Prolonged Field Care.
- Schedule and co-lead the Product Development Committee's weekly meeting alongside the Product Development Specialist.
- Coordinate with Management and Quality teams on all new projects from concept through design, development, testing, launch, modifications, and discontinuation, ensuring proper documentation throughout.
- Collaborate with Management, Sales & Marketing, and the PD Committee to prioritize projects and meet deadlines.
- Identify new medical supplies and devices for potential addition to the product offering in coordination with the PD Committee.
- Review current product offerings to recommend updates, changes, or discontinuations as necessary.
- Work closely with Sales and Marketing on product launches and related tasks.
- Collaborate with Marketing to enhance the website product pages and overall online presence.
- Ensure that all staff are informed and trained on product changes and new product information.
- Maintain and update the Project Tracking list on a weekly basis, reflecting all relevant product development processes.
- Travel to key industry tradeshows and customer visits 2-4 times per year, or as needed.
- Implement and manage a Product Advisory Team for end user and industry feedback as time permits.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Management Team.
Required Qualifications
- High level of attention to detail required.
- Ability to take initiative and lead projects to completion.
- Ability to work independently with strong time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent interpersonal skills along with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Programs (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
- EMT License (Required).
Preferred Qualifications
- Critical Care Paramedic level (Preferred).
- Tactical Combat/Emergency Casualty Care experience (Preferred).
- Project Management experience (Preferred).
- FDA medical device regulatory experience (a plus).
- Paramedic License (Preferred).
- Tactical Medical experience: 3 years (Preferred).
- Trauma response experience: 3 years (Preferred).
