Job Description

Position Overview

Morgan Consulting Resources, Inc. is conducting a search for the Senior Director, Healthcare Procurement & Contract for UNITE HERE HEALTH. This fantastic opportunity involves leading managed care contracting and vendor administration activities for the Aurora-based Plan Units, developing innovative contracting practices, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. The role is remote with a strong preference for candidates in the Chicago area and includes 15% to 25% travel to the Aurora, IL office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Vice President of Healthcare Delivery and oversee all managed care contracting and vendor administration activities.
  • Lead and support the Aurora-based MCVA team in finalizing contract negotiations and managing day-to-day contractual relationships.
  • Develop and implement strategic goals for innovative contracting to increase quality and decrease costs.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless contract implementation and performance.
  • Research market trends and creative contracting opportunities to serve the needs of participants.

Required Qualifications

  • 10-12+ years of experience in healthcare, managed care, or an insurance organization.
  • Expertise in leading contracting efforts across various models, including risk-sharing arrangements, capitation, and direct-provider arrangements.
  • Working knowledge of legislative requirements under ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, DOL, etc., related to health benefits.
  • Strong data and financial analysis skills, complemented by excellent report writing and presentation capabilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills within a team-oriented environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, with experience in union or mission-driven non-profit settings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Familiarity with key markets such as Chicago, Boston, New York, and New Jersey.
