This role plays a key part in the design, implementation, and optimization of the organization's IT infrastructure while partnering with teams across Azure Identity and Access Management, Networking, IT Operations, and Systems Engineering. The Team Lead provides technical leadership, drives cross-team collaboration, and supports the execution of critical infrastructure initiatives to advance the organization's technology roadmap.

Salary: $150,000.00 - $170,000.00

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the SVP, Systems Architecture to develop and execute long-term infrastructure strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Provide technical leadership across Systems Engineering, Azure Identity, Networking, and IT Operations by guiding best practices, mentoring team members, and supporting cross-training initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by promoting modern infrastructure patterns, automation, and operational efficiency.
  • Build strong working relationships with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into practical, scalable solutions.
  • Contribute to the development, documentation, and maintenance of IT architecture standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure infrastructure designs and operational processes align with industry best practices, compliance requirements, and the organization's security framework.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline operations through automation, orchestration, and improved system design.
  • Support engineering and operational teams in executing disaster recovery and business continuity strategies, including planning, testing, and optimization.
  • Assist with evaluating and selecting infrastructure technologies, tools, and platforms that enhance performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead or contribute to technical assessments, root cause analyses, and post-incident reviews to strengthen system resilience.
  • Provide architectural input and guidance during project planning, design reviews, and major infrastructure initiatives.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for complex technical issues, partnering with teams to drive resolution and long-term remediation.
  • Promote alignment and collaboration across teams to ensure cohesive delivery of infrastructure services and solutions.
  • Perform other activities as may be assigned by your manager.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of industry and/or relevant experience, typically with 2+ years in an AVP level role or external equivalent.
  • Progressive experience in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, or cloud engineering roles supporting enterprise environments.
  • Extensive experience with Azure and AWS, including identity and access management, networking architecture, compute, storage, monitoring, automation, and cost optimization.
  • Proven technical leadership abilities, including mentoring team members, promoting best practices, and influencing architectural decisions without formal supervisory authority.
  • Deep understanding of core infrastructure technologies, including networking, virtualization, storage systems, server platforms, and hybrid cloud integrations.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into scalable, secure technical solutions and contribute to long-term infrastructure strategy.
  • Strong background in automation and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Azure ARM/Bicep, CloudFormation).
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-layered infrastructure issues.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.
  • Experience supporting disaster recovery, high-availability architectures, and enterprise security frameworks is strongly preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect, CCNP, etc.) are a plus.
  • Flexibility to work shifts outside of normal working hours.
  • Travel may be required, up to 25%.
  • Ability to be on call and support 24/7/365 operations.
