Job Description

Position Overview

Compensation: Starting at $22 per hour depending on experience

Under the guidance of the Shop Operations Manager, the Warehouse Shipping and Inventory Specialist’s primary responsibility is to perform shipping, receiving, and inventory management functions in the shop and warehouse facilities for inbound and outbound company equipment, used, rental, and dock & door products. This role helps ensure an effective and efficient workflow while maintaining a safe and orderly work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Load and unload equipment (trucks, batteries, chargers, dock and door equipment, etc.) and other materials for inbound and outbound deliveries while matching BOL to inventory.
  • Communicate with shop operations, sales, and rental coordination for shipping and delivery verification.
  • Optimize the movement, storage, and processing of inventory to reduce errors and ensure effective workflow; develop and implement processes and procedures to drive accuracy.
  • Ensure all inventory is properly marked/tagged, correctly located in the warehouse, and consolidated for POW customer delivery.
  • Participate in ASEC and shop 5S activities related to warehouse improvement projects.
  • Position, stage, and charge equipment in the warehouse while consolidating orders for the installation crew.
  • Inspect, verify, and accept shipments into inventory with a focus on quality control.
  • Identify any missing or damaged equipment and promptly communicate with shop operations and sales coordination.
  • Receive LTL shipments and notify the ordering party.
  • Palletize, band, label, and schedule LTL shipments.
  • Perform general facility maintenance and upkeep, including cleaning of warehouse floors, emptying trash & recycling cans, and following established shine schedules.
  • Serve as a backup/support to the Parts team on lift truck tire pressing for van replenishment, work orders, and customer orders.
  • Monitor the propane cage.
  • Organize equipment upon receipt with asset ID labels and manage scrap equipment disposal.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly facility and identify equipment for transport as required.
  • Dump oil from the shop, crush oil filters, and puncture spray cans for disposal.
  • Charge and equalize batteries.
  • Keep renewed and demo areas clean, with trucks properly positioned and dusted.
  • Provide general assistance to Shop and Parts teams, including helping shop techs with minor repairs.
  • Perform additional duties or projects as assigned by the Manager.

Required Qualifications

  • One year of shipping & receiving and/or warehouse inventory experience
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts
  • Experience with loading/unloading materials on semis and flatbed trailers
  • High school diploma, GED, and/or technical school minimum
  • Proven ability to work effectively and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to safely lift up to 70 pounds unassisted
  • Willingness and ability to work in a warehouse environment and remain on feet for the majority of the time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Dock & Door equipment is a plus
  • General mechanical aptitude is a plus
