Intern - Public Relations and Social Media

ELS is hiring for the position of Intern - Public Relations and Social Media in Chicago, Illinois.

What you'll do:

During the ELS internship, you will work in a collaborative, fast-paced company right in the heart of downtown Chicago. Our internship program is robust and you will be involved in meaningful projects that have a true impact upon the business. We also offer intern-specific activities, including lunch & learns, a group project and presentation to our executive team, networking opportunities and meet & greets with executives. Of course, our interns will also be a part of our summer company-wide social events!

Your job will include:

• Build upon our library of PR Pitches and articles.
• Assist in generating recognition and media coverage through awards like Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice Awards.
• Monitor and record press coverage that mention our properties and brands.
• Monitor social media platforms and initiatives in conjunction with social media team, marketing, and operations teams
• Continue to expand the reach of customer engagement
• Use social media tools for communication with ELS's target audience
• Identify and respond accordingly to interactions that may arise on social media forums
• Assist in growing the #100DaysofCamping campaign
• Report on social media activity and results
• Monitor brand conversations and recognize social opportunities as they arise
• Create relationships with social media influencers
• Monitor third party review sites (TripAdvisor, Yelp, etc.) and report on findings

Experience & skills you need:

• Currently enrolled in a college or university program working towards a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or Marketing
• Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0
• Demonstrates problem solving skills in customer focused environment
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated and able to work independently

Estimated compensation for this position in the states of BC, CA, CO, IL, MA, MD, MN, NJ, NY, VT and WA is:

Hourly: $18.00 - $18.00

The salary listed is an estimate and not guaranteed. A salary offer will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data. In addition to the base pay and our benefits, some positions are eligible for bonuses, sales commissions, or incentive pay.
