Junior Software Engineer, Cosmos SDK

Position Overview

Our mission at Interchain Labs is to build a more free, more fair internet with Cosmos at its core. As aJunior Software Engineer, you will support the development and maintenance of the Cosmos SDK—the leading framework for building application-specific blockchains. This New York City based role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative and inclusive environment alongside experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of core components in the Cosmos SDK.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to design and implement new features and improvements.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure quality and reliability.
• Help support users and developers with bug investigations and technical questions.
• Learn to navigate and contribute effectively to a large open-source codebase.

Required Qualifications

• 1+ years of software engineering experience (including internships, open-source contributions, or personal projects).
• Familiarity with Go or a similar systems programming language.
• Interest in blockchain or decentralized technologies.
• Willingness to learn and collaborate within a team setting.
• Strong problem-solving mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience contributing to open-source projects.
• Familiarity with the Cosmos SDK or other blockchain frameworks.
• Comfort interacting with external developers or users.
