Cybersecurity Analyst III

Position Overview

In this role as Cybersecurity Analyst III, you will strategically plan and execute HHSC’s Information Security Assurance roadmap—playing a key role in managing regulatory and compliance deliverables and serving as the SME on IT security assurance. This opportunity is open to permanent residents or US citizens only.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and deployment of the Information Security Assurance Program, managing projects to implement and verify security controls.
• Direct internal security and compliance assessments, including risk analysis, audits, and remediation oversight.
• Support security and compliance controls by managing the agency’s Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) tool and related initiatives.
• Champion the Security Awareness Program by developing training and outreach initiatives for employees and contractors.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including participation in disaster response and continuity activities.

Required Qualifications

• Must be a permanent resident or US citizen with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in IT security.
• Requires proven expertise in cloud security best practices, comprehensive risk assessments, and compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, TAC 202).
• Must hold at least one certification such as CISSP, Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect (SC-100), AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Prisma Certified Cloud Security Professional.
• Demonstrated strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
