Position Overview
Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our patient‐focused Multispecialty Care and Float Pool teams at St John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. Ideal candidates are mission‐driven caregivers who use their clinical expertise to provide acute bedside care and coordinate services across specialty areas. This role offers Compensation that aligns with your experience with a pay range of $34.00 – $51.00 per hour along with a Sign On Bonus of up to $20,000 for eligible candidates.
Position specifics include working in departments such as Ministry Float and Float Pool, with schedules covering nights (7p–7a) for 36 hours per week and occasional weekend rotations. You will float to various units based on your competency level and the needs of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Float to designated units after completing required competency and cross-training.
- Promote and restore patient health by executing the nursing process and collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide both physical and psychological support to patients, families, and team members.
- Ensure quality care by adhering to therapeutic standards and making necessary patient care adjustments.
- Cover units with high patient acuity and census as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Associate’s degree in Nursing.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois and Wisconsin.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- At least 1 year of relevant clinical experience in a specialty area.
- Certification in a specialty area (if required for specific float assignments).
