Key Responsibilities

The Thickening Senior Civil/ Structural Engineer is responsible for customer interface, and execution and management of complex projects regarding engineering deliverables within scope, schedule, and budget. The role also includes performing site visits and addressing customer needs.

  • Manages multiple complex projects concurrently without supervision.
  • Ensures structural design integrity of projects.
  • Reviews and approves design drawings in coordination with customer specifications.
  • Coordinates and manages deliverables from other engineering disciplines (electrical, process, technical writing, etc.).
  • Travels to workshops, job sites, and other offices to support equipment issues, installations, and sales efforts.
  • Works on standardization, product improvement, and R&D initiatives within the product line.
  • Provides mentorship and training for newer team members.
  • Assists operations with manufacturing challenges and the implementation of low-cost sourcing initiatives.
  • Analyzes complex design problems and develops new or improved techniques or procedures.
  • Actively participates in a team environment to achieve successful project outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in civil and structural designs.
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with a structural emphasis.
  • Successful completion of PE is required.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes for design of equipment components (ASCE 7, AISC, API).
  • Familiarity with standard steel fabrication and other manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient with engineering design tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
  • Familiarity with engineering structural analysis tools (STAAD, FEA-ANSYS, etc.).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
