Part Time Retail Pharmacist

Position Overview

Cardinal Health Innovative Delivery Solutions, with over 45 years of experience in empowering hospital and outpatient pharmacies, is one of the largest employers of acute-care pharmacists in the United States. Our Community Health Center Pharmacist role is based at Howard Brown Community Health Center (641 W. 63rd St). The position includes a varied schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 9:00AM–7:00PM; Tuesday 10:00AM–7:00PM; Friday 9:00AM–5:00PM; and every 2nd and 4th Saturday 9:00AM–3:00PM. In this role, you will deliver medication and pharmaceutical care in a company-owned retail contract pharmacy, including immunizations, patient consultation, medication therapy management, and support for high-risk patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of the manager, dispense medications and ensure their safe and efficient delivery to customers.
• Maintain open communication and be available for consultation with customers and practitioner sites.
• Participate in the supervision of technical staff.
• Ensure compliance with best practices for 340B contract pharmacies.
• Provide professional consultation to both patients and prescribers from partner health facilities.
• Organize and direct technicians' workflow; verify proper preparation, labeling of pharmaceuticals, order entries, charges, and inspections.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy required.
• Licensed pharmacist in the state of Illinois required.
• Immunization Certification or willingness to become a certified immunizer within 90 days of hire required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Strong interpersonal relations and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• PharmD preferred.
• Experience with 340B programs.
• Experience working with specialty drugs (HIV/AIDS/Hepatitis C).
• May require vendor credentialing.
