Our AI Node (San Francisco)
We are launching a physical AI Node in the Mission District: a research hub designed to accelerate AI-driven science and safety. The Node provides local GPU compute infrastructure, dedicated office and collaboration space, and project funding within a focused research community.
We're now looking for a hands-on Systems Administrator to support and maintain the compute infrastructure powering this work.
This is a part-time contractor role (2–10 hours per week). Some tasks can be handled remotely, but on-site hardware setup and occasional urgent issues require local availability.
Location: San Francisco (Mission District)
Type: Part-time contractor, ad hoc (2–10 hours/week)
Compensation: per hour (based on experience)
Start: As soon as possible

What you'll do
- Maintain and troubleshoot UNIX-based GPU compute systems
- Maintain local servers and physical hardware
- Support Docker/containerized research workloads
- Manage NVIDIA drivers, CUDA environments, and multi-user GPU access
- Help onboard research projects and improve pre-existing documentation
