This internship opportunity, which may lead to a two-and-a-half-year rotational development program, is designed to develop future finance leaders. Through mentorship, specialized training modules and stretch projects, you will build a broad understanding of finance functions including forecasting, planning, financial modeling, and risk management. The internship is offered at the USAA Corporate Headquarters in San Antonio, TX or Charlotte, NC, based on business needs, and will run from May 27, 2026 to August 7, 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Within defined guidelines, use financial principles to solve business problems through forecasting, planning, and financial modeling related to income, profitability, liquidity, capital and expense management.
  • Support the preparation of recurring and ad-hoc financial reports and cost-benefit analysis to aid internal and external decision-making.
  • Under supervision, contribute to proactive analysis that enables effective decision-making and resource utilization.
  • Identify and manage existing and emerging risks to ensure they are optimally measured, monitored, and controlled.
  • Ensure all activities are executed within regulatory and compliance guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree (or higher) from an accredited institution; expected graduation after August 7, 2026. Most interns participate during the summer between their junior and senior years.
  • 0 to 2 years of related experience with accountability for simple to moderately complex tasks or projects.
  • Experience in financial/accounting research and report production.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and computer skills, with proven expertise in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
  • Foundational knowledge of data analysis and technical accounting/finance competence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Academic concentration in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, Economics or a related field.
  • Expected graduation in Spring 2027.
  • Prior relevant financial internship experience.
  • Familiarity with financial statements, balance sheets, and advanced Excel functions.

  • Compensation: The salary range for this position is $21 - $32 per hour, with an intern stipend to assist with expenses. Actual rates may vary by location based on experience and market data.
