Position Overview

AC Disaster Consulting, a leading national consulting firm providing compassionate full‐spectrum emergency management services, is seeking a Human Resources & Business Services Intern. Guided by the company’s Corporate Values, this role supports internal HR systems, compliance tracking, and administrative operations while contributing to disaster response, recovery, and preparedness efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support HR and Payroll System Implementation, including testing, data entry, migration, and training sessions.
  • Assist in researching state business regulations and tracking compliance renewal dates.
  • Aid in the collection, organization, and documentation for business certification applications and renewals.
  • Help organize and promote employee engagement activities and team-building events.
  • Provide administrative support to the Chief of Staff by scheduling meetings, organizing documents, and preparing presentation materials.
  • Learn and assist with reviewing, drafting, and communicating company policies.
  • Participate in shadowing experiences and support special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, Emergency Management, or a related field, or a recent graduate.
  • 0-2+ years’ beginner-level experience in emergency management principles and customer service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (particularly Excel) and a willingness to learn new software.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and basic understanding of HR functions and payroll systems.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States without employer-sponsored visa.
  • Must pass company and applicable client background and reference checks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year of previous internship, volunteering, or work experience in a similar field.
  • Current GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Benefits & Perks

  • Compensation: $18/hour
  • This is a temporary position and is not benefits eligible.
