Job Description

Position Overview

This position offers a unique opportunity for motivated individuals to gain valuable industry experience in a sales and customer support role while training to become a Licensed Insurance Sales Agent.
The company provides paid classroom and hands-on training to assist trainees in obtaining State Property/Casualty and Life and Health Licenses. In this role, you will assist customers, engage in marketing activities, and support various office functions under the direct guidance of an Agent or Lead Sales Agent.
Once licensed, you will be responsible for the profitable growth and achievement of business goals by marketing and servicing Direct Auto products – including Auto, Life, Auto Club, and Roadside Assistance – to both new and existing customers. You will also assist walk-in customers, support office operations, and market products externally through calls and visits.
Additionally, you will monitor key competitors in the local market and provide suggestions for initiatives to enhance Direct Auto's market position, as well as handle sales administration and reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist customers in a sales and support capacity while preparing to become a Licensed Insurance Sales Agent.
  • Complete marketing activities and help with all office functions under the guidance of an Agent or Lead Sales Agent.
  • Market and service Direct Auto products, including Auto, Life, Auto Club, and Roadside Assistance, to new and existing customers once licensed.
  • Assist walk-in customers and support overall office operations.
  • Market products outside the office via marketing calls and visits.
  • Monitor key competitors in the local market area and suggest initiatives to improve Direct Auto's market position.
  • Handle sales administration and reporting activities.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and develop strong customer relationships.
  • Experience or willingness to develop key relationships and market products within community and local business organizations.
  • Strong computer skills with working knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Highly motivated to market and sell in a multi-product environment where cross-selling and customer retention are essential.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Property/Casualty license preferred but not required; must be able to acquire it within 90 days of hire as part of training.
  • High level of initiative, drive, and openness to learn new skills and information.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for sales.
