Job Description
Position Overview
I’m representing an engineering consultancy in Austin, Texas that is looking to add a Water Resources Engineer/Project Engineer to support a growing portfolio of water resources projects. This role is well suited to an engineer who enjoys a mix of technical design, project coordination, and client facing work, with a clear pathway toward Project Manager responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver water resources drainage design, including engineering calculations, cost estimates, and plan preparation
- Prepare and contribute to technical reports, feasibility studies, specifications, and project documentation
- Support projects through design and occasional fieldwork and site visits
- Attend public meetings and support presentations to clients and stakeholders
- Oversee and coordinate the work of engineering technicians and graduate engineers
- Plan, direct, and coordinate project tasks to ensure delivery within agreed budgets and schedules
- Support the management of multiple projects and workstreams concurrently
- Assist with proposal development, project approaches, and client-facing activities
- Contribute to business development by supporting repeat work and new client relationships
Required Qualifications
- Experience Required: 5+ years’ experience in Water Resources, Drainage, or a related discipline
- Texas PE or ability to obtain PE within 6 months
- Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modelling and drainage design using: HEC-HMY, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD / Bentley, GIS etc
- Comfortable working in an office-based environment with occasional field visits
