Position Overview

H-E-B, one of the largest, independently owned food retailers in the nation operating over 400 stores with annual sales exceeding $31 billion, is seeking a Digital Marketing Content Manager I. In this role, you will be part of a creative Digital Marketing team focused on concepting, storytelling, and creating content for H-E-B's digital channels—including social and digital media—while also supporting traditional marketing initiatives that drive strategic priorities. This position requires commitment, hard work, and a strong focus on quality and Customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Writes/edits content for digital marketing campaigns across H-E-B's social and digital media
  • Monitors H-E-B's digital presence; sifts for insights and trends; keeps pulse on the online sentiment of customers
  • Reviews submitted content for accuracy, completeness, and correctness
  • Establishes/ensures consistent voice and grammatical standards for each brand and campaign (e.g., H-E-B, Primo Picks)
  • Works with H-E-B Partners and business units to proactively solicit details needed to create content that delivers on business goals
  • Supports/maintains content management strategy and workflow
  • Analyzes media metrics for content effectiveness and recommends adjustments to improve business goals
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of social/digital platforms through insights, immersion, and regular interaction to create customer-first, channel-tailored content
  • Supports continuous digital innovation aimed at establishing H-E-B as a leader in digital marketing
  • Monitors competitive initiatives, stays current on digital marketing innovations, and identifies opportunities for H-E-B
  • Adheres to stringent deadlines to ensure a smooth flow of content projects and accommodate special projects, pre-work, and rush assignments

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, a related field, or comparable experience
  • 1+ years of experience in digital marketing, editing, or journalism
  • Experience in advertising and/or brand copywriting
  • Knowledge of search optimization strategies, content management systems (CMS), and HTML is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of digital platforms as storytelling vehicles and advertising capabilities
  • Familiarity with online marketing techniques, email best practices, and CAN-SPAM compliance
  • Understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) strategies and further experience with CMS and HTML
  • Strong relationship-building skills and clear verbal/written business communication skills
  • Proficiency with PC skills, including MS Office applications
  • Ability to interact with customers and clearly present concepts
  • A strong sense of ownership, drive, and urgency in problem-solving and executing tasks
  • Capacity to evaluate and conceptualize digital marketing solutions in an evolving media landscape, including social, mobile, and video
