Job Description

Position Overview

As a Medical Scribe, you will work alongside physicians during patient visits—documenting histories, exams, treatments, test results, and prescriptions—to ensure accurate record keeping that allows doctors to focus on patient care. This position provides invaluable hands-on clinical experience in diverse settings including outpatient offices and emergency departments. Schedule: Options include part-time (2–3 shifts per week) and full-time (3–4 shifts per week) roles with typical 8-hour shifts (e.g., Monday–Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM with varying shift options).

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with doctors during patient visits to document all clinical information in real time.
  • Record patient history, exams, treatments, and prescriptions accurately.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems effectively.
  • Review and track lab and test results.
  • Follow HIPAA and other privacy regulations to ensure record security.
  • Keep patient charts updated and accurately maintained.
  • Organize and send documents for physician review.
  • Support the healthcare team with lab tracking, follow-ups, and maintaining clinic efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 18 years old and authorized to work in the U.S. (16 years or older in TX).
  • Proof of required vaccinations (if applicable).
  • Typing speed of 40+ WPM.
  • Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Strong listening and communication skills.
  • Flexible schedule availability.
  • Ability to stand, sit, and work on a computer for several hours a day.
  • Access to a laptop (provided after training; personal laptop needed for training).
