Job Description

Position Overview

New College Grad Software Engineer role intended for current students (BS/MS/PhD) or recent graduates (within 12 months) with a target start in Summer/Fall 2025. Located in the San Francisco Bay Area (Redwood Shores, CA), the role is part of Oracle's Database Technologies organization, a team renowned for powering mission‐critical systems used across diverse industries worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in full-stack development for a family of databases including Oracle NoSQL, Oracle Times-Ten, and the Oracle Database.
  • Work on distributed systems, ensuring scalability, high availability, security, and advanced analytics.
  • Develop in-database machine-learning and AI algorithms to enhance product autonomy and customer business outcomes.
  • Contribute to Oracle Engineered Systems initiatives with technologies such as Persistent Memory and RDMA.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduated with a Bachelor’s/Master's/PhD in Computer Science (or an equivalent field) within 12 months of the start date.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages: C, C++ and Java.
  • Ability to implement sophisticated algorithms and data structures in complex systems.
  • Completed coursework, projects, internships, or research in three or more areas such as Computer/Software Architecture, Distributed Systems, Database Systems, Multithreaded/Concurrent Programming, or Operating Systems Concepts.
  • At least one internship, research assistantship, or teaching assistantship in a relevant technical field.
  • Reside in the United States and/or attend a university in the US and be able to obtain work authorization in 2025.

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
