Job Description

About the position

The Cybersecurity RMF Engineer supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The candidate will implement the security and integrity of information systems and networks, identify and resolve moderately complex issues to prevent cyber-attacks on information systems, and keep computer information systems secure from interruption of service, intellectual property theft, network viruses, data mining, financial theft, and theft of sensitive customer data, allowing business to continue as normal. The role involves developing and collecting artifacts to document compliance for cybersecurity controls IAW DoD and NIST RMF guidelines, participating in the development, implementation, and monitoring of analytical and technical methodologies, tools, and policies/standards to ensure a cyber-secure environment for the customer, and providing computer forensic and intrusion support to high-technology investigations. The position will be filled and work onsite at Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS) Colorado Springs, CO.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the security and integrity of information systems and networks.
  • Identify and resolve moderately complex issues to prevent cyber-attacks on information systems.
  • Develop and collect artifacts to document compliance for cybersecurity controls IAW DoD and NIST RMF guidelines.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of analytical and technical methodologies, tools, and policies/standards.
  • Provide computer forensic and intrusion support to high-technology investigations.
  • Participate in configuration control process for hardware and software.
  • Analyze the established security requirements and recommend additional security requirements and safeguards.
  • Support the formal ST&E required by each government accrediting authority.
  • Continuously monitor the cybersecurity posture of each system and implement corrective actions or mitigations.

Requirements

  • Must have: an active Top Secret Clearance.
  • Certification Requirements: Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+ CE or higher).
  • 4 years or more: of general work experience.
  • 2 years or more: of directly related experience.
  • Must possess: a general understanding of network architecture.
  • Must have: the ability to prepare, objectively review, and deliver technical presentations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to work with diverse teams of engineering and support personnel in a mission-critical operational environment.
  • Must possess above-average verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience interfacing with senior Air Force and/or DoD customers.
  • Experience with Xacta.
  • 2 years of Cybersecurity or Project Management experience or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
