Job Description

Position Summary

The Lead serves as the senior operational resource within the supply chain team, bridging the gap between staff and leadership. This role coordinates daily materials management, inventory control, and logistics to ensure a compliant, uninterrupted flow of materials within a regulated environment. The Lead supports the Supply Chain Manager in monitoring operational performance, resolving supply chain challenges, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Prioritize work, provide daily guidance, mentorship, and training to Specialists and Technicians.
  • Escalation & Support: Serve as the primary escalation point for operational issues and act as the Supply Chain Manager’s operational lead in executing initiatives.
  • Materials & Inventory Management: Coordinate materials planning, cycle-count programs, and inventory reconciliation to maintain high accuracy and prevent production shortages.
  • Logistics, Systems & Data Integrity: Oversee inbound/outbound logistics, ensuring temperature-controlled, hazardous, or international shipments. Coordinate vendor returns and subcontracted services (sterilization, packaging, labeling). Maintain ERP/MRP data integrity and support QMS activities, including deviations, root cause analyses, and audit readiness.
  • Quality and Regulatory Compliance: Support Quality Management System (QMS) activities, including deviations, root cause analyses, CAPAs, and audit readiness. Ensure logistics, inventory handling, and documentation align with GMP and regulatory requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the Tier1/ Tier 2 representative for the Supply Chain department. Collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing to ensure material availability.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support implementation of new supply chain procedures, systems, and operational improvements. Identify operational inefficiencies and support implementation of process improvements, Lean initiatives, or system enhancements.
  • KPIs: Monitor operational supply chain performance indicators including inventory accuracy, material availability, logistics performance, and ERP transaction accuracy.

Decision-Making Authority

  • Responsible for overseeing daily operational execution within materials management and logistics functions while escalating strategic or financial decisions to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Authorized to prioritize daily supply chain activities, coordinate logistics operations, resolve routine inventory discrepancies, and provide operational directions to Specialists and Technicians.
  • Escalates supplier performance issues, vendor selection decisions, budget approvals, long-term supply chain strategy, and major supply disruptions to the Supply Chain Manager.

Skills & Abilities

  • Language: Fluent in English (Oral/Written). Spanish (Oral/Written), a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of materials management, inventory control, and logistics coordination.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and supply chain data analysis tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality, compliance, and documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to mentor and guide team members in operational best practices.
  • Experience working in regulated environments including GMP standards preferred.

Position Expertise/Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent: required.
  • 5+ years of experience: in materials management, logistics, procurement support, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience working: in GMP-regulated environments preferred.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems: and inventory management systems required.
  • Prior experience: providing operational guidance or mentoring team members preferred.

Physical Requirements

Warehouse operations requiring lifting a maximum of 50 pounds.
