Job Description

Position Overview

Dot Foods is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, test, and maintain advanced data pipelines that drive analytics and strategic insights. Based in Mt. Sterling, IL or Chesterfield, MO, and reporting to the Analytics Manager in the Information Technology department, you will transform complex datasets, automate data wrangling from diverse sources, and present technical ideas to business teams. Salary: $78,288 - $117,432 annually, plus bonus opportunity. Key Responsibilities

  • Automate data wrangling from a wide variety of sources (flat files, remote servers, databases, legacy systems, message queues, APIs and more).
  • Identify opportunities to improve system and business process efficiencies.
  • Cleanse and transform data in preparation for all levels of analytical use.
  • Leverage various technologies and methodologies, including scripting and programming languages.
  • Assist in the preparation, deployment, and maintenance of machine learning/artificial intelligence data pipelines.
  • Work with vendors and consultants as appropriate.
  • Apply lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable field.
  • 3+ years' experience in applied SQL development, data warehousing/analytics, and data engineering (or equivalent).
  • 1+ years of IBM Cloud experience or equivalent IBM certification.
  • Experience with Db2 Warehouse.
  • Experience with Cloud Pak for Data.
  • Experience with Watsonx platform(s).
  • Proficient in object-oriented concepts with experience in Python, Java, or C#.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • IBM Data Engineer certification.
  • Experience using Snowflake.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Effective project management and planning skills.
