Job Description

Job Summary

The Senior Service Manufacturing Engineer drives engineering and operational excellence within the client's medical device repair depot. This role owns repair line performance, process optimization, and continuous improvement across a defined product portfolio — ensuring the scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of global service operations through cross-functional collaboration and data-driven decision making.

Essential Functions

  • Own repair production line performance for an assigned portfolio segment, driving measurable improvements in throughput, yield, cycle time, and cost
  • Lead root cause investigations for field and depot failures, implementing corrective and preventive actions and managing associated ECOs and PDAs
  • Monitor and improve operational KPIs using Lean Six Sigma methodologies to eliminate waste and enhance process performance, in partnership with operations leadership
  • Act as the primary liaison between service operations and cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring service needs are communicated and fulfilled — including process standardization across international sub-offices
  • Collaborate with Test Development and Automation Engineering to deploy test solutions and identify automation opportunities that improve repair efficiency and product quality
  • Train repair depot team members on new processes, incorporate feedback for continuous refinement, and mentor staff as a technical resource

Skills Requirements

  • Servant leader and strong communicator with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage complex, long-duration projects
  • Analytical problem-solver with experience addressing issues related to complex electro-mechanical equipment
  • Working knowledge of BOMs, MRP systems, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and production test systems

Required/Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree: in Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of engineering experience: in electro-mechanical assembly and functional test, or equivalent
  • Experience: in a medical device or other highly regulated industry
  • Experience: leading, mentoring, or developing team members in an Agile environment
  • MES experience: (Camstar a plus), AutoCAD or similar drafting software, LabVIEW, ISO 9000, and familiarity with large language models such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini (all preferred)
