Specimen Accessioner - Entry level, will train!

Position Overview

Are you organized, accountable, and known for going the extra mile? Invitae, now part of Labcorp, is seeking a dedicated Specimen Accessioner to join the Specimen Processing and Accessioning team at their San Francisco location (1400 16th Street, San Francisco, CA 94103). In this entry‐level role, you will perform clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast‐paced, high‐throughput environment following established standard operating procedures. The schedule for this position is Tuesday–Saturday, 8:30am–5pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
• Perform accurate data entry of patient information
• Resolve and document any problem specimens

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Strong data entry and organizational skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Proficient in MS Office
• Ability to lift up to 40lbs
• Ability to pass a standardized color blind test
• Compensation: $23.69–$28.47 per hour

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a clinical laboratory or related work environment is preferred
• Previous medical or production experience is a plus
• Experience working in a team environment
