Position Overview

As a member of the Human Resources team, the HR Generalist is responsible for supporting a positive and engaging employee experience across the entire employee life cycle. By providing guidance to employees and leaders on HR programs in recruitment, onboarding, total rewards, compliance, and employee relations, this role drives the success of Johnstone Supply – North America’s leading wholesale distributor of HVACR equipment, parts, and supplies.
Key Responsibilities
- Employee Relations & Support: Represent company culture, administer and support HR programs, and act as the primary contact for employee-related matters.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Lead end-to-end recruitment and structured onboarding processes while partnering with hiring managers to align talent needs with strategic goals.
- Payroll, Total Rewards & Leaves: Support initiatives including benefits, payroll accuracy, leave administration, and workers’ compensation case management.
- HRIS/HCM & Compliance: Utilize and train others on HRIS/HCM systems ensuring accurate record keeping, data integration, and compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum of three years’ experience as an HR Generalist or Specialist with proficiency across multiple HR disciplines.
- Strong understanding of HR practices including hiring, training, performance management, employment law, and benefits administration.
- Proficient in HRIS/HCM systems and Microsoft Office applications with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ADP, iCIMS, or similar HR platforms.
- Bilingual abilities (Spanish preferred) and professional certifications such as PHR or SHRM-CP.
