Health Data Audits Consultant /Nigeria/

Position Overview

Tiko, an African nonprofit empowering girls and young women on their sexual and reproductive choices, is seeking an individual consultant to support risk management of its operations in Abuja. Founded in 2014, Tiko enhances the resilience of adolescent girls and young women in Sub-Saharan Africa through its unique girl-centric technology platform and collaborative approach with local and national health systems.

This consultancy will span 6 months with an expected effort of up to 10 working days per month. Interested candidates should submit their resume (max 3 pages) along with their expected remuneration package.

Key Responsibilities

• Familiarise yourself with the Tiko way of operating and existing arrangements to achieve program objectives.
• Review and understand our platform risk management processes including fraud prevention, detection, and response controls.
• Conduct data verification by collecting data from primary registers and comparing it against platform records to identify any gaps.
• Perform random audits and spot checks in areas or facilities with significant or anticipated activity.
• Verify sample calls with beneficiaries to confirm service uptake and assess actors’ compliance with the user journey.
• Carry out actor audits and investigations as required, and communicate findings to internal stakeholders.
• Implement follow-up mechanisms to ensure agreed recommendations are actioned by internal and external parties.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in health data verification, monitoring and evaluation or a similar field.
• Strong understanding of public health data quality management processes (formal qualifications are a plus).
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to report findings clearly and concisely.
• Proven ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams and propose practical solutions.
