Job Description

Position Overview

The Practice Group Marketing Manager (Regional Corporate) is responsible for market analyses, client development, and strategic business planning for the assigned market. This role focuses on evaluating market share and competitive positioning for both corporate and emerging companies/venture capital (ECVC), developing targeted approaches to new business opportunities, coordinating strategic plans with regional leadership, and executing profile‐raising initiatives through marketing campaigns and events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market analyses and client development:
    • Conduct market analyses to determine the firm’s corporate and ECVC market share and identify market opportunities.
    • Present the firm’s competitive positioning by researching competitors’ lateral activity, thought leadership, events, news/experience, and league tables.
    • Perform business intelligence analysis to become well educated on regional clients and prospects by reviewing financial data, marketing client engagement, and competitor representation.
    • Serve as the marketing subject matter expert for the market.
  • Client targeting and new business development:
    • Establish a replicable approach to targeting new business for the regional general corporate and ECVC practice by collaborating with the competitive intelligence team to set criteria, analyze data and relationships, recommend targets, project manage next steps, and report on results.
    • Develop and execute cross‑selling strategies in collaboration with global practice or regional marketing and business development teams.
    • Advise lawyers on new business opportunities stemming from regional targeting initiatives and client expansion programs, and provide support on developing approaches, teams, propositions, and supporting materials (e.g., credentials, targeted events).
  • Strategic business planning and reporting:
    • Consult with regional corporate leaders, partners in charge, regional litigation leadership, and marketing & BD colleagues to develop and implement strategic plans and marketing budgets that align with global practice group goals.
    • Manage the implementation and execution of strategic plans, including scheduling periodic meetings, preparing reports, analyzing progress, and monitoring results.
  • Profile raising, marketing campaigns and events:
    • Collaborate with the regional business development team to forge strong relationships with associations and industry organizations that attract prospective clients, influencers, and referral sources.
    • Develop an event strategy based on market and competitive analyses to support business plan goals.
    • Support seminars, sponsorships, and other events, tracking and reporting on their success with key stakeholders.
    • Partner with the PR team to advance profile‑raising efforts and work with marketing colleagues to facilitate regional surveys, awards, and accolades.
    • Support the integration of lateral lawyers into the general corporate or ECVC practices and maintain a calendar of outreach activities to ensure maximum ROI and adequate lawyer/BD professional coverage.
    • Coordinate with global practice group marketing colleagues to understand planned activities and maximize collaboration and ROI.
  • All other duties as assigned or required.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required.

  • 5+ years marketing‑related experience.
