Position Overview

We are actively looking for a Junior Civil Engineer Specializing in Highway/Roadway to join our Atlanta office. Location: Atlanta. Key Responsibilities
- Perform engineering design, planning, and computations in accordance with GDOT and AASHTO publications.
- Develop detailed roadway 3D models for design and construction using Bentley InRoads or OpenRoads.
- Prepare accurate construction drawings and exhibits using MicroStation, meeting GDOT, client, or corporate CADD standards.
- Perform, review, and evaluate engineers’ estimate calculations and specifications.
- Write clear, concise, and professional technical reports, correspondence, memorandums, and specifications.
- Communicate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team and clients, asking questions and demonstrating a willingness to learn.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members and stakeholders.
- Work under deadlines and manage several concurrent assignments independently.
- Design and prepare documents for projects including Freeway Improvement, Widening, and Interchange Projects; roadway improvements and grade separations; pedestrian and bike facilities meeting ADA requirements; and stage construction and traffic handling.
- Assist the project manager with plan preparation, cost estimates, report writing, proposal development, and client coordination.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience Required: 2–5 years of experience in a Civil Engineering firm.
- EIT certification is required.
- Experience with CAD and MicroStation.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Availability and willingness to travel and work overtime as needed to meet deadlines.
- Ability to successfully pass a post-offer pre-employment background check in compliance with NIST 800-171.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. with required documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering (counts as 1 year toward total experience).
- PE certification is preferred.
- GDOT experience and familiarity with its requirements.
- Experience using Bentley InRoads and OpenRoads is a strong plus.
