Job Description
Position Overview
Reporting to the Head of the WPHF Secretariat, the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will guide and support UN Women’s Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) in strengthening its results-based management approach. The role is central to ensuring high‐quality monitoring, evaluation and reporting – both at the global level and through technical support to Country Offices – while building capacity among partners and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance, technical support and quality assurance to the WPHF Secretariat for timely and high‐quality results monitoring, evaluation, and reporting, including support for annual reports and donor presentations.
- Support the development and update of technical documents, results frameworks, and data management systems such as the Management Information System (MIS) and WPHF’s Index.
- Guide and assist Country Offices and Management Entities in preparing monitoring and evaluation plans, partner project documents, and capacity-building on Results-Based Management (RBM) practices.
- Contribute to HQ-led initiatives by acting as a liaison for data collection, review exercises, and indicator management, ensuring that field perspectives inform corporate strategies.
- Develop and deliver capacity development tools including training materials and technical webinars, and perform additional duties to ensure the efficient functioning of the fund and organization.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in development-related disciplines, Social Sciences, Statistics, Political Science, Development Studies, Public Administration, Gender or a related field (a first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted).
- At least 7 years of responsible development experience, with a strong background in Results-Based Management (RBM) and monitoring & evaluation at global, regional, or country levels.
- Demonstrated experience in managing or preparing results-based reports using both qualitative and quantitative data, including work with UN-hosted pooled funds or multi-donor instruments.
- Proven ability to provide technical guidance and support to personnel, partners, and country offices in monitoring, evaluation, and data management procedures.
- Strong computer skills and experience with tools such as SPSS, NVIVO, MS Word, Excel, as well as familiarity with web-based information systems.
- Fluency in English is required; fluency in French or another UN official language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish) is desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in managing or conducting results-based management work, monitoring and evaluation at the inter-agency level.
- Experience providing RBM and feminist monitoring and evaluation training to external partners and staff.
- International experience and the ability to navigate complex multi-donor environments are highly desirable.
