Position Overview
AmeriCorps Members support Delaware‐based nonprofits by providing hands‐on, one‐on‐one marketing and outreach assistance that builds organizational capacity and strengthens community connection. In this role, members are embedded with nonprofit partners to serve as a consistent source of digital communications support. Responsibilities include creating content calendars, designing graphics, organizing digital assets, capturing impact stories, and tracking engagement. Members also help prepare organizations for Delaware Giving Day by refining messaging and strengthening online profiles, while recruiting student volunteers and participating in training sessions to build skills in digital communications, nonprofit operations, and community leadership. Location: Delaware, Philadelphia/Wilmington/Atlantic City. Schedule: Part Time.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on marketing and outreach support tailored to each nonprofit partner’s needs.
- Collaborate with nonprofit staff to create, schedule, and manage social media content promoting programs, events, impact stories, and giving campaigns.
- Draft posts, design basic graphics, and organize digital assets.
- Build content calendars and monitor digital engagement to assess effectiveness.
- Assist in developing and implementing digital outreach strategies to increase awareness and support volunteer recruitment.
- Prepare organizations for Delaware Giving Day by refining messaging and strengthening online profiles.
- Recruit and engage student volunteers while tracking service hours and outcomes for program evaluation.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Some college.
- Must be between 18 and 75 years of age.
- Strong skills in communications, writing/editing, non-profit management, teamwork, public speaking, leadership, community organization, and computer/technology proficiency.
- Able to work during off hours alongside other commitments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with digital marketing or social media management.
- Familiarity with nonprofit operations and digital outreach strategies.
- Car recommended.
