Position Overview
At U.S. Bank, we’re on a journey to do our best—helping customers and businesses make better and smarter financial decisions, while empowering communities to grow and succeed. In this role, you willcollect payments on assigned delinquent accountsby reviewing documentation, contacting customers via telephone and written correspondence, and arranging repayment schedules to minimize losses. You’ll work in a dynamic environment with detailed training provided (Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm CST for the first 2 months) before transitioning to a remote schedule that includes both day and evening shifts as well as a split shift every third Saturday.
Compensation:$20/hour plus a lucrative incentive plan. The pay range may vary based on location and additional factors.
Key Responsibilities
- Interact with a wide variety of customers by receiving inbound calls and using an outbound dialer system.
- Provide excellent customer service with critical thinking and a solution-focused approach.
- Educate customers and arrange repayment schedules in order to meet department goals and deadlines.
- Conduct collection activities in accordance with state and local collections laws for past due customer accounts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two to three years of experience in collections and/or customer service activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Good knowledge of loan collection policies, fair debt collection practices, and related laws.
- Strong customer service and relationship skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve exceptions as well as organize and interpret information effectively.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
