Position Overview

Are you passionate about the environment? Join Montrose—a global environmental services provider with over 135 offices worldwide—as a Laboratory Analyst in our Orange, CA Laboratory. Reporting to the Enthalpy Analytical team within the Montrose Environmental Group, you will perform chemical measurements and generate defensible data through GC/MS analysis and related laboratory practices. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform chemical measurements and other tasks to meet client expectations while generating defensible data on time.
  • Execute GC/MS quantitative sample analysis.
  • Conduct instrument calibration, method validation, and development.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot instruments and prepare samples, standards, and data summaries.
  • Undertake projects aimed at improving analysis efficiency and accuracy.
  • Communicate timely updates and comply with the Quality Assurance Program and Health and Safety policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience operating and troubleshooting GC/MS instrumentation.
  • Ability to work in a stationary position for an entire shift.
  • Capability to lift up to 25 lbs independently and 50 lbs with assisted lifting equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of analytical methods, laboratory instruments, general lab practices, and lab safety.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
