Job Description

Position Overview

Join Clover’s CEO’s Technical Staff to drive transformative technology initiatives in healthcare. You’ll work at the intersection of product, generative AI, data, and software engineering—building systems from the ground up that shape decisions across the entire healthcare ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build from zero-to-one: Prove concepts, collaboratively design, and build new systems—whether using existing components or starting from scratch.
  • Ship the full stack: Deliver technology spanning infrastructure, data, generative AI, conventional machine learning, backend systems, and multiple user interfaces.
  • Lay foundations: Develop early concepts into long-term systems that stand the test of time.
  • Learn from the past: Absorb lessons from a decade of technology evolution to steer clear of common pitfalls in new healthtech startups.
  • Learn from each other: Collaborate within a small, elite, and supportive team to make the best decisions.
  • Tinker and experiment: Understand why things work and continuously improve them.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience building and shipping systems across web, data, mobile, machine learning, desktop apps, or systems engineering.
  • Several years working with data systems including relational database design, data modeling, data warehousing, and data processing.
  • Highly practical mindset focused on delivering tangible business outcomes.
  • A passion for building solutions that come to life, grow, and succeed.
  • A humble and collegial approach with strong opinions that are weakly held.
  • Ability to adapt to context shifts and seamlessly pitch in across multiple areas.
  • Experience or interest in systems using generative AI to drive business outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Residing in the San Francisco Bay Area with the flexibility to work in-person 1-2 days a week (preferred, but not required).

Benefits & Perks

  • Financial Well-Being: Enjoy a competitive base salary (with an estimated range of $180,000 to $325,000), equity opportunities, performance-based bonus program, 401k matching, and regular compensation reviews.
  • Physical Well-Being: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage to ensure you and your family have access to quality healthcare.
  • Mental Well-Being: Benefit from initiatives like No-Meeting Fridays, monthly company holidays, access to mental health resources, and a generous flexible time-off policy.
  • Professional Development: Grow with learning programs, mentorship, professional development funding, and regular performance feedback and reviews.
  • Additional Perks:
    • Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) with discounted equity opportunities
    • Reimbursement for office setup expenses
    • Monthly cell phone & internet stipend
    • Remote-first culture enabling collaboration with global teams
    • Paid parental leave for all new parents
