Job Description
Position Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) position at TGH Behavioral Health Hospital focuses on providing compassionate care in a behavioral health setting. The role involves assessing patients, planning care, supervising shifts, and ensuring adherence to nursing policies while delivering exemplary patient care. The RN will work within a collaborative environment aimed at improving mental health outcomes and supporting patients through crisis stabilization and treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess the patient and plan care within set time-frames and document findings according to policies.
- Oversee and supervise the shift, demonstrating leadership through delegating tasks such as groups, close observation, and meal supervision.
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond accordingly, including notifying the physician as needed.
- Follow hospital policy for medication administration.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing or relevant state licensure required.
- Current unencumbered license to practice by the State Board of Nursing.
- CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
- Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.
- Experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities.
