Job Description
Position Overview
The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is a renowned nonprofit research organization within Georgia Tech. This full-time Software Engineer role in the Electronic Systems Laboratory’s Air National Guard Program Division is focused on designing, developing, and testing software applications while providing technical leadership and integrating open systems for the Air Force Reserve Command Test Center operations in Tucson, AZ.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform software development, debugging, modification, enhancement, and documentation.
- Develop and maintain kernel and user-level software and scripts.
- Contribute to technical reports and presentations.
- Work closely with Department of Defense customers and system end-users to ensure implementations meet operational needs.
- Document software and network architecture and integrate software into aircraft hardware.
- Support flight tests to validate integrated software performance.
- Design, test, and develop computer software to meet operational requirements.
- Collaborate with teams to integrate Open Architecture Enclaves into Guard and Reserve aircraft.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to obtain secret clearance.
- Understanding of modern fighter aircraft architectures with knowledge of Open Systems integration.
- Experience with containerized computing.
- Familiarity with Development, Security, and Operations (DEVSECOPS) processes.
- Knowledge of XML and CDS constructs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Secret Clearance.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, and other programming languages.
- Networking architecture skills including analysis of network protocols.
- Router configuration skills.
- Experience writing test procedures and plans for complex DoD systems.
