About the Role

This role is critical for the design, development, and implementation of complex electrical power systems for cutting-edge projects. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our power infrastructure. This is an on-site position, providing the opportunity for hands-on work and close collaboration with a talented team of engineers.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test electrical power systems, including distribution, generation, and protection.
  • Perform load flow analysis, short circuit calculations, and protection coordination studies.
  • Create detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical layouts using CAD software.
  • Specify electrical equipment such as switchgear, transformers, generators, and motors.
  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical systems.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for system failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEEE).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, project managers, and construction personnel.
  • Develop and manage project documentation, including technical specifications, test procedures, and reports.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and industry best practices in power systems engineering.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree: Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in electrical power systems engineering.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, SKM).
  • Proficiency: Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or similar schematic design tools.
  • Experience: Experience with high voltage and medium voltage systems.
  • Understanding: Understanding of power system protection principles and relay settings.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Certification: EIT certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
  • Project Management: Experience in project management is a plus.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
