Position Summary
The Senior Cloud Administrator (SCA) specializes in supporting and implementing M365 and Azure services. This role provides day‑to‑day management, monitoring and resolution of everyday technical issues.
As an SCA, you will manage cloud administration and support projects across various business units. Collaborating with enterprise teams to resolve technical problems, participate in system design and rollout tasks, and support project launches. Ensuring a smooth transition by removing technical barriers during adoption is also a key part of this role. Additionally, you will assist Senior Engineers on Microsoft platforms and help drive improvements in Microsoft cloud systems.
This position involves working with both internal and external groups, including Network Administrators and Technical Services teams, to monitor and maintain systems in Microsoft 365 and Azure environments. Candidates should have strong support skills in Microsoft 365, Exchange, Entra, and Azure, as well as experience with provisioning, managing, monitoring, and decommissioning these services.
Other duties include standard enterprise data center support for servers, on‑premises Exchange, and integrating external SaaS and hybrid solutions. Success in this role requires advanced technical knowledge and hands‑on expertise with Microsoft Cloud and infrastructure technologies. Responsibilities
- Support of Exchange hybrid environment
- Free/busy, mailbox moves, OAuth
- Mail flow connectors (Inbound / Outbound)
- Message trace
- SMTP headers and transport rules
- TLS, certificates, and connectors
- Proofpoint
- Support and implementation of MS Entra Identity and Security
- Entra Integration and SSO integration
- Administer Solutions from 3rd party cloud and on‑prem environments
- Follow Microsoft Well Architected solutions governance
- Experience with Power Shell, Bicep, and JSON
- Monitoring and enhancing the security MS 365 environments
- Ensuring federated access across Active Directory and Azure AD
- Troubleshooting and resolving Azure and M365 environment performance issues, connectivity issues, security issues, etc.
- Implementing new services in M365 and Azure cloud platforms
- Working with teams to integrate M365 and Azure infrastructure components into processes and procedures
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Availability to work night and weekend hours on occasion as required
- Other projects and tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree: in computer science, information technology, or related field, or 7 or more years of equivalent experience
- 7 years or more of experience: in supporting applications and functions in the Microsoft SAAS, and Azure Cloud
- Certification(s): related to the cloud environment preferred, such as MCSE, AZ 305: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure and Networking cert such as CCNA Cloud Preferred
- Strong experience: in implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Microsoft cloud solutions, including major services related to Compute, Storage, Network, and Security
- Exchange 202X: Hybrid Exchange, EOL a must
- Proofpoint Security: a must
- Strong knowledge: of Backup, Restore, Recovery, and high availability strategies for Microsoft Azure environments
- Hybrid Exchange environments: preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge: of IaaS and PaaS services
- Windows Server: and SQL database creation, configuration, upgrade, migration, and patching
- Experience: in troubleshooting and resolving M365 and Azure environment performance issues, connectivity issues, security issues, etc.
- Experience: with Power Shell, SQL, Yaml, and JSON ecosystems
- Ability: to identify and troubleshoot Azure server and SQL database-related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space, and other resources
- Strong understanding: and background of working with a complex Active Directory, Azure AD, LDAP, and the requirement of strictly following standards, procedures, and processes
- Advanced knowledge: of DNS, DHCP, Kerberos, and Windows Authentication
- Knowledge: of network protocols such as DNS, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, SFTP
- Knowledge: of Network and TCP/IP routing/subnetting
