Job Description
Overview
The Sales Representative will be responsible for generating new business, building relationships with contractors and customers, and selling our range of metal building materials and steel products. This role is ideal for someone self-motivated, confident on the phone, and knowledgeable in construction or building materials.
Responsibilities
- Prospect and generate new sales opportunities
- Manage existing client accounts to ensure ongoing satisfaction, identify upselling opportunities, and strengthen long-term relationships
- Conduct engaging product demos and technical sales presentations tailored to client needs
- Make outbound calls and follow up on leads
- Understand customer project needs and recommend appropriate products
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with clients to secure mutually beneficial deals
- Provide quotes and close sales
- Maintain comprehensive records of sales activities, customer feedback, and market insights for analysis and reporting purposes
Skills
- Proven experience in outside sales, management, or business development with a focus on sales environments
- Self-motivated and strong work ethic
- Excellent negotiation skills coupled with exceptional customer service abilities
- Skilled in territory management, inside sales, retail sales, and cold calling techniques
- Demonstrated success in upselling, account management, and direct sales strategies
- Effective communication skills for engaging diverse clients and cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of marketing principles as they relate to sales growth strategies
