Job Description

Position Overview

Shopper Marketing is responsible for total ownership of all Shopper Marketing plans for select key customers within the channels of business. In this role, the Assistant Shopper Marketing Manager will cultivate shopper marketing strategies that effectively drive shopper awareness and action with our product portfolio while also achieving our key business objectives for East customers. The Assistant Manager, Shopper Marketing maximizes engagement through our retail media network platforms and measures the effectiveness of those programs, working closely with Sales, Insights and Marketing Communications to drive growth and market share.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build ground-up program development for East Sales execution that is rooted in shopper insights and addresses both retailer and shopper needs while retaining the ability to react to competitor and market conditions.
  • Identify and negotiate contracts to manage the work of external agencies and vendors in support of Shopper Marketing efforts.
  • Support the annual budgeting process, including analysis, key learnings from internal and external sources, and ROI calculations.
  • Collaborate with the Director on creative development from start to finish with cross-functional input.
  • Recommend the best vehicles to achieve business objectives and meet brand strategies while managing the execution of final Shopper Marketing plans (timelines, budget, shopper experience).
  • Coordinate with Sales, Category Management, Insights, and Shopper Marketing teams to ensure strategic linkage and identify potential synergies.
  • Partner with team members to optimize sales execution in tandem with Consumer Development efforts, ensuring appropriate lead times and necessary information.
  • Transform insights into solutions that convert shoppers into buyers.
  • Create and manage pre- and post-ROI systems for all executed shopper marketing programs to drive continuous improvement.
  • Help manage the effectiveness of shopper marketing dollars alongside the Director and share results across the organization.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the manager.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 3+ years of CPG customer sales, marketing, or agency experience.
  • Experience engaging and partnering directly with customers to develop and launch joint shopper solutions.
  • Familiarity with food retail and shopper marketing tactics and vendors.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight timelines.
  • Ability to balance data-driven tried & true methods with emerging, innovative tactics.
  • Experience in managing the creative process and providing feedback to internal and external partners.
  • Passion for building and maintaining relationships both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Experience linking strategy to implementation.
  • Possesses an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Willingness to travel.

  • Compensation Range: $81,000.00 - $121,000.00, plus bonus.
