Position Overview

Join our team as a Territory Manager where you'll build relationships, drive sales, and make a meaningful impact in the foodservice industry at US Foods – one of the largest food distributors in the U.S. Leveraging comprehensive training and dynamic coaching, you will nurture customer accounts, pursue new business opportunities, and help deliver success through a team-based selling model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the Customer Champion – Own and nurture customer relationships using a team-based selling model by educating customers on ordering platforms, providing menu consultations, product recommendations, and pricing strategies.
  • Drive Sales Success – Increase case growth and acquire new business through impactful sales presentations, customized sales approaches, and effective time and territory management.
  • Team Based Selling – Collaborate with Specialists, marketing, supply chain, and customer service teams to maximize top penetration opportunities and ensure seamless product delivery.
  • Lead with Insight – Develop new business by leveraging market intelligence, following up on leads, participating in industry organizations, and attending trade shows and conferences.
  • Delivery Resolution – Manage deliveries according to published routing schedules and troubleshoot any issues during the order process.
  • Competitive Advantage – Stay informed about market conditions, product innovations, and competitor activities to provide valuable insights to customers.
  • Stay on the Move – Conduct regular check-ins, site visits, and follow-ups by driving your personal vehicle to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.

Supervision: This role has no direct reports.

Work Environment: Primarily outdoors in your assigned territory with customer visits in variable weather and temperature conditions.

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year of sales experience preferred.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record is required.
  • Foodservice industry, culinary, restaurant management, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong presentation abilities.
  • Ability to build internal and external relationships; comfort with cold calling to develop new business.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • A competitive spirit with a drive to exceed goals.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Team-oriented mentality to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools like Salesforce is a plus.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 75 lbs.

  • Compensation: The initial expected base rate for this role is between $55,000 - $95,000, depending on relevant experience, education, specific skills, function, and geographic location.
