Job Description

Position Overview

To be eligible to enlist in the U.S. Navy, candidates must be between the ages of 18-34. At any given moment, hundreds of complex networked computer systems operate in tandem to keep ships and submarines at their best. The specialized training you receive in this field will pave the way to exciting careers in IT and network support, computer programming, web development, and information security. You may serve in a variety of roles including Information Systems Technician, Cryptologic Technician Networks, and Intelligence Specialist, each critical in ensuring mission success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Information Systems Technician: Ensure that networks and related systems are designed, operated properly, and quickly repaired when errors occur to maintain uninterrupted mission operations.
  • Cryptologic Technician Networks: Perform offensive and defensive cyber operations using state-of-the-art technology to track adversaries and protect our networks from attacks.
  • Intelligence Specialist: Collect and analyze data—from foreign cultures to enemy movements—and create cohesive intelligence briefings for high-ranking Navy officials.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizen or equivalent
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • At least 17 years of age (note: enlistment eligibility is 18-34)
