Position Overview

(RN) Non-Premium Oncology Nurse Case Manager

Case managers are healthcare professionals who serve as customer advocates to coordinate, support, and guide care for our customers, families, and caregivers as they navigate the healthcare journey. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with customers in the creation of care plans and documents the plan in the medical management system.
  • Partners with each customer to establish goals and interventions to meet their needs.
  • Establishes a plan of care in conjunction with the customer and provider, then documents it in the medical management system.
  • Utilizes motivational interviewing, behavior change techniques, and shared decision making to help customers achieve optimal health and well-being.
  • Empowers customers with skills to enhance interactions with their providers.
  • Interfaces with customers, family members/caregivers, providers, and internal partners via telephonic, email, text, and chat interactions.
  • Collaborates with nutritionists, pharmacists, behavioral clinicians, Medical Directors, and customers' providers as well as other Cigna Medical Management programs to provide whole-person health support.
  • Tracks daily activities to trend volume and outcomes.
  • Follows standard operating procedures and toggles between multiple systems and applications.
  • Researches relevant topics in health promotion and disease prevention as required.
  • Prioritizes work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.
  • Understands and adheres to Case Management performance measures to deliver on key results.
  • Completes training within the communicated time frame and pursues continuing education to maintain clinical expertise and certification as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

  • Active unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in a state or territory of the United States with a minimum of two years full-time direct patient care as an RN.

Preferred Qualifications

  • For specialty case management positions, experience in Oncology preferred.
  • Must have an active and unencumbered RN license.
  • Within four (4) years of hire as a case manager, possess a URAC-recognized certification in case management.
  • Excellent communication skills, including telephonic (verbal) and digital (messaging, emails) communication.
  • Skilled in clinical acumen to form sound judgment and act effectively.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to perform thorough internet research.
  • Ability to recognize, address, and resolve conflicts in a professional, collaborative manner.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to culturally diverse situations and to the needs of varied participants and customers.
  • Effective organizational skills and flexibility to meet evolving business needs.
  • Adapts approach and demeanor in real time to suit shifting demands and complex situations.
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex scenarios in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with clinical and business partners.

  • Compensation:For this position, an annual salary of 76,600 - 127,600 USD/year is anticipated, with eligibility for an annual bonus based on experience and geographic location.
