Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a Desktop Support Technician with strong Windows 10/11 support experience and a proven background in device imaging, rollout execution, and end-user support. This role will focus on building and deploying new Dell workstations as the organization transitions from Windows 10 to Windows 11. Technicians will use Microsoft Intune and/or PDQ to deploy standardized images and applications, perform hardware upgrades (e.g., memory), and complete asset tagging for a large-scale refresh.
Compensation: $20.00 - $25.00/hr
Location: Torrance, CA
This is a Contract, fully onsite position. The application process is open until Feb 7, 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on desktop support for Windows 10 and Windows 11 end users, including troubleshooting OS, application, and connectivity issues.
- Perform workstation imaging and rollout activities using the organization’s standardized Windows 10/11 images.
- Build and configure new Dell machines, including staging, imaging, hardware validation, memory upgrades as needed, and asset tagging.
- Deploy standard and off-the-shelf applications to endpoints via Intune and/or PDQ and ensure systems meet baseline configuration requirements.
- Support peripherals and workplace technology, including printers and phones, and troubleshoot related issues.
- Manage basic Active Directory tasks such as creating new user accounts, modifying existing accounts, and adjusting permissions/security group membership as directed.
- Document work performed, including imaging status, asset information, and remediation steps, following established processes and standards.
- Collaborate with onsite and remote team members to coordinate rollout schedules and ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
- Deliver high-quality customer service with professionalism, punctuality, and clear communication in a highly customer-focused environment.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11 in an enterprise environment.
- 3+ years of experience performing Windows 10/11 imaging, including endpoint rollout and migration activities.
- 3+ years of experience executing system image deployments and device builds using Microsoft Intune and/or PDQ, with strong Intune/PDQ build expertise.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and strong interpersonal/customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting printers and phone systems in a corporate environment.
- Familiarity with Active Directory user administration, including account creation and permission adjustments.
- Prior experience supporting large device refresh initiatives involving hundreds of endpoints.
- Experience with hardware upgrades and endpoint lifecycle processes (staging, deployment, collection, inventory control).
