Job Description

Position Overview

The Store Consultant consistently delivers a positive customer experience by utilizing consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and provide solutions. This role is integral to the Store, knowledgeable in print, signs & graphics, and shipping; responsible for taking orders, coordinating store activities, providing pricing and product information, and recommending appropriate FedEx Office products and services. The position also involves operating and maintaining equipment, moving materials, managing production and retail supply, and completing tasks based on priority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follows instructions of supervisors and assists other team members in performing store functions.
  • Assists in the training of store team members.
  • Demonstrates consultative behaviors to understand each customer's individualized needs.
  • Provides expert advice in printing, signs and graphics, and shipping product lines, recommending appropriate products and services.
  • Delivers an outstanding customer service experience by anticipating needs, suggesting alternatives, and resolving issues promptly.
  • Takes complex customer orders using the order system and provides accurate pricing information.
  • Assembles parcels and prepares goods for shipping, including wrapping, weighing, and labeling packages.
  • Operates printing, binding, and related equipment using customer-supplied media and documents.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly retail store environment.
  • Ensures confidentiality of customer data and careful handling of sensitive materials.
  • Processes financial transactions using a POS terminal, including cash handling and making change.
  • Cleans, repairs, and stocks printing and shipping equipment and supplies for optimal performance.
  • Keeps up-to-date with merchandising materials and ensures proper display of products and signage.
  • Takes preemptive action to prevent errors and waste, and completes required financial paperwork.
  • Adheres to FedEx Office standard operating procedures and maintains compliance with legal, HR, safety, customer service, and security policies.
  • Performs multiple tasks simultaneously and looks for opportunities to improve knowledge and skills.
  • Operates with minimal supervision while adhering to team member and store standards.
  • Undertakes any other duties as needed or required.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • 6+ months of specialized experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to stand during the entire shift (excluding meal and rest periods).
  • Ability to move and lift 55 pounds, and to bend/twist at the waist and knees.
  • Effective communication with customers, vendors, and team members.
  • Capability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention and concentration.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and adhere to established business hours.
