Position Title: Human Resources & Administrative Assistant

Department: Human Resources

Reporting Function: Human Resources Business Partner

Supervisory Functions: None

Salary: $24.50 - $26.50 per hour

Job Summary:

The Human Resources & Administrative Assistant serves as the welcoming first point of contact for Laradon while also supporting the Human Resources team through administrative, onboarding, and employee support functions. This role is ideal for an individual interested in building a career in Human Resources through structured training and cross-functional development. We are also only currently considering internal Laradon employees.

The position combines front office reception responsibilities with hands-on HR support, creating a growth pathway into the HR profession while ensuring a warm, organized, and supportive experience for employees, families, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Human Resources Support & Training Track

Under the guidance of the HR team, the employee will be trained in and gradually assume responsibility for:

  • Assisting with onboarding processes including new hire paperwork, I-9 support, badge creation, and orientation scheduling
  • Supporting employee file maintenance in compliance with confidentiality and record-keeping standards
  • Assisting with data entry in HRIS, Schoox and internal tracking systems as well as vetting HRIS systems to maximize operational flow
  • Preparing onboarding and training packets
  • Assisting with benefits enrollment periods and open enrollment communications
  • Supporting training coordination and internal communications
  • Serving as a friendly and supportive resource for basic HR questions, escalating as appropriate

Front Office & Administrative Support

  • Serve as the primary receptionist, greeting and assisting all visitors in a friendly and professional manner
  • Answer and route incoming phone calls
  • Receive, sign, and sort all incoming mail and packages
  • Manage visitor sign-in procedures and maintain building access logs
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception and lobby areas
  • Assist with general administrative tasks including copying, filing, scanning, mailing, and data entry
  • Support office supply ordering and inventory

Minimum Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED: required
  • College coursework/Degree: in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or related field preferred
  • Experience: 2+ years of administrative, receptionist, or customer service experience preferred
  • Interest: in pursuing a career in Human Resources
  • Skills: Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Confidentiality: High level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Learning Ability: Ability to learn new systems and processes
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office / Google Workspace
  • Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately
  • Work Style: Organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a dynamic environment
