Job Description

Position Overview

Applies skills as a seasoned, experienced professional to coordinate audiovisual (AV) and instructional technology services while delivering exceptional customer service. The role involves maintaining a wide variety of media technologies—including Crestron control systems, codec appliances, integrated cameras, microphones, speakers, lighting, projectors and more—by applying appropriate solutions to non-standard problems. Additionally, the position provides consultative advice on technical methods, media presentation techniques, and intellectual property issues for instructional and special event settings, and analyzes processes for enhanced efficiency.

Compensation: Salary range is $32.09 - $68.87 (Hourly Rate). Final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy and internal equity factors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate AV and instructional technology services, ensuring timely support for educational sessions, meetings, and special events.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot a wide array of AV hardware and software systems including integrated control systems and media equipment.
  • Provide consultative advice on media production methods and technical solutions to clients.
  • Analyze technical processes, service delivery, and business operations for efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience or training.
  • Minimum 3+ years of directly relevant experience in providing audiovisual support.
  • Experience in setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and coordinating AV systems and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of media production methods and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
  • Familiarity with intellectual property restrictions and ensuring compliance with IP requirements.
  • Ability to assess institutional AV technology needs and design appropriate solutions.
  • Understanding of post-production processes including internet-based media editing and distribution.
  • Proficiency with enterprise applications for managing AV support requests and schedules.
  • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Crestron or comparable programming, troubleshooting, and design in conference and meeting room environments.
